My parents had about one or two days left before they took off for 5 months to Brazil for an unofficial type mission trip. We got all the family that could make it, and had a Christmas/farewell party before they left. Everyone was able to make it except my eldest brother Brian's family. Picture of the siblings...
And all the grand-kids (minus 6) + one dog.
The kids did a fun Christmas gift exchange to a story.

And the adults did a white elephant gift exchange. I ended up with my sister's gift of toilet paper, jellybean pooping sheep party-pooper, and glass cleaner. My parents ended up with my gift that I had wrapped in stages. It kind of fit them perfectly, as they were about to leave on their trip.
1 -- "Time for you to take a break" -- a Kit-Kat.
2. "Pop your stress away one bubble at a time" -- bubble wrap
3. "Kick your feet up in these hand-made, extra-padded slippers" -- slippers made from maxi-pads.
4. "And Hey, this is your break, feel free to let 'em rip" -- a jar of flarp.
There were lots of laughs throughout the game -- super fun. Amber ended up taking the slippers so she could use them for her next white elephant party. I must admit -- they turned out pretty cute!

The kids ran around crazy inside and outside, and everyone had a great time while snacking on yummy treats. Logan (the one at the bottom of the pile) probably not as much due to all the 4 and 5 year olds chasing him around and wrestling him for probably a good hour or so!
Then it was farewell. We'll sure miss Grandma and Grandpa while they're gone, and this little one will have changed a whole lot by the time they come back, but it sounds like they're enjoying themselves and helping out quite a bit in Brazil!
