May 2020

We ordered some lady bugs on Amazon to try and keep the bad bugs off of my raspberries. We had a lot of fun releasing them, but sadly, most of them were gone within a week. Next time, I'll wait until the raspberry plants start producing so there's more bugs around so they'll want to stay!

Warm enough for the slip'n'slide!
And making s'mores in the backyard!

This cat has become less cuddly than she used to be, but she seems to sense when she's needed. Lucas was crying because he hurt his leg on his bed, and the cat came out of some hiding spot and jumped up on the bed to comfort him. She's done this multiple times with each kid, and it just fascinates me how in-tune she is to their feelings!

Lucas doing his super-hero poses!
Cutest super-hero I ever did see!

Late night shows with Emma and Brad with his light-saber.
Dentist visits for all, and poor Lucas ended up with his first cavity.

Lots of board games. Jenga!

They brought in new wood chips for the playground, but left the pile in the parking lot for a couple weeks. All the neighbor kids had fun digging nests or riding their bikes on it.

Sprinklers under the trampoline!

The animals wanting nothing to do with hit, hung out with me in the grass.

More slip-n-slide fun, and our first friend over since the shutdown. Jake was very excited to finally have his best friend Ruben back over!

Go Lucas Go! Another fun season of soccer!

And luckily, Roaring Springs was allowed to open and completely saved our summer!

Kathryn Albertson Park

A much needed adventure out of the house in fresh air! We took a nature walk around Albertson Park.

Spotted a blue heron!

Striking some silly poses...

A momma goose with all her goslings.
Another successful outing with this crazy crew!

April 2020

A mean April Fool's joke I played on my friend as they were shutting down all the school's. She fell for it hard, and it was hilarious! She didn't think so...

With the school's out we did a lot of art projects. These two were our spring flowers and bees, and blowing colored bubbles onto paper.

Jake's corona-ninth-birthday! It was pretty hard to have a birthday with the shutdown, but we promised we'd celebrate when things cleared up. We ordered in his favorite, Texas Roadhouse, and had a fun day celebrating him and playing with new toys!

He's always such a good sport with joke gifts :).

We were playing pictionary, and Lucas drew this number.... He told me it was a swimsuit...LOL!
Easter! The kids had the traditional Easter bunny candy-filled egg hunt throughout the house that morning, followed by the real egg hunt in the back yard! They added at least 3 rounds of hunting afterwards, so I had plenty of cracked eggs to choose from for deviled eggs!

The library had online videos from the classes Lucas used to attend, so Lucas was still able to interact with them and do some activities.
Another art project of painting rocks for our garden we were about to plant.
And the older two started remote school after spring break. Here's one of Jake's assignments on how to save our Earth. I'm thinking we might need more than recycling this time!
