Halloween Festivities

Emma was a witch, Jacob a skeleton, and Lucas the Haunted Hot-rod Racer (from a Halloween episode of Mickey Mouse. We had to improvise with his costume, as he did not want to be anything else.) We went to the school trunk or treat, and it was absolutely freezing. I came prepared, but the kids didn't listen when I told them how cold it was going to be. I ended up giving my coat and gloves to Emma, and we only did one and 1/4 trips around the cars because that's all our freezing fingers could handle! Lucas would go around and give an evil cackle along with his trick-or-treat. So funny!
Our annual trip to Farmstead.

We all braved the dark beast this year. I may have carried Lucas in crying the first time, but by the end, he decided we should do it again two more times. Another freezing outing with freezing fingers. We did some zip lines, cow trains, and basketball -- but cut it a bit short -- burrr!
Pumpkin carving! Emma's doing it all on her own now! Jacob and Lucas looked at some examples on the computer to decide what they wanted theirs to look like. They turned out really well!

Lucas went to the library for their trick or treat activities, and then we all went out that night around our neighborhood. It was a super cold Halloween night, and Emma and Lucas decided the cold wasn't worth the candy and came back earlier than usual with a half pumpkin full of candy. Jacob and I did another block or two before he was satisfied with his candy amount. I get it bud -- I've got that sweet tooth too.

Jake's amazing soccer coach decided to switch to a more competitive league. Jake tried out and made the team, but because of differing birth years they wouldn't have been able to keep Jake with the coach and his kids. Jake decided he would rather stay with PAL and get on a team with his best friend Ruben. It was a pretty disappointing season. We went from being on an undefeated team to maybe winning one game... Jake enjoyed playing with his friend, but the coach was terrible and lot of boys on the team had no idea what was going on on the field. I did catch Jake doing some dance moves.
Lucas LOVES soccer. He talks about it all year long, and it's so hard for him to wait for the next season to get here.
Emma enjoys playing soccer, but prefers to keep it just for fun instead of competitive.

We had a week off of school, but Brad still had to work, so the rest of us had another fun day at Wahooz!

Whenever they get a hole-in-one, they get a picture with their ball on the green. Today, they all got one! Sweet!

I normally wouldn't take a picture of our bowling scores, but I got a turkey in the last frame -- and it was awesome. There may have been some victory dancing.
Our "outdoor" cat, which neither the kids nor the cat seem to understand. This is the only way we can keep Jacob from jumping on the couch and running around while playing video games!
Rake the leaves day! And then rake again after we have our fun!
Emma at her band concert. She's really enjoying percussion and all the different instruments she gets to learn. Here she is about to start her turn on the bass drum.
Another day at volleyball -- I don't know if this was a cage initially to keep a baby in or out of, but the kids enjoyed building their own little area to play in.

September 2019

Lizzy's face cracks me up in this picture -- okay, I may be turning into the crazy dog lady who likes posting pictures of pets...
I play volleyball a couple times a week, and Lucas comes with me prepared with toys and snacks. Frequently he finds my phone and surprises me with some random pictures.
It may be baby steps, but Lucas made it into double digits in height percentage!! Goodbye to sleeping in summer, and hello beautiful sunsets that Emma and I get to watch on the way to school.

My birthday was spent on a busy Saturday filled with soccer games, but I did get a most delicious treat to end the day.
Lucas kicking the ball...

These two pictures perfectly sum up Lucas. He kept kissing Brad until the point it was getting annoying, and then turns and gives me that smile. Such a fun little punk.

We went to the school carnival mainly for cotton candy, but scored some shirts, treats, and little prizes too. Jacob hit the dunk target, and Lucas tried the obstacle course.
April and Meghan came up for a little vacation, and we had a girls night at Texas Roadhouse. Yum!

First day of School!

Emma 6th grade -- first year of middle school!
Jacob 3rd grade! These two have this school thing down -- no worries here! They've got this!
Emma rarely lets me do her hair, so when it's picture day and she finally lets me, I have to grab a picture!
