Museum Farewell

One thing we loved about Utah, was living right by Thanksgiving point, and going to all their museums -- the Curiosity Museum being our favorite. So I tried to get over there quite a bit in our last few weeks. It was a great place to hang out while we had to be out of our house for showings for hours at a time.

Emma built this throne all on her own! It was pretty impressive.

Jake and I built a house -- this is it halfway done.

It's all fun to build and all...

but destroying it after is so much more fun!

There were so many things to do, and I regretfully, only took a handful of pictures. I was too busy playing. Here's Emma in the puppet show house, and Brad's head in the Magician shop.

Farewell Museums, Farms, and Gardens. Truly a highlight of our Utah experience, and Jake still asks to go. Hopefully Boise gets something cool like this eventually...

Wild-Style

Wherever we go, cats seem to find us. I should probably take blame for it since I inherited my Mom's need for feeding and feeling sorry for any animal that crosses my path. Brad had been traveling back and forth from Meridian to work half weeks at his new job, while I stayed home and kept the house "show-ready" -- which is definitely a stressful task with three kids (one being a newborn). Brad got home late at night, and heated up the oven to 425 to cook a pizza... Little did he know, I had placed a pan full of cookies in there with a pyrex plastic lid to hide from that days showings... the fumes and smoke were awful. We had all the doors and windows open, and this little fluff-ball roamed right in and ran downstairs. I of course got him some turkey and milk.

He couldn't care less about me. Unlike all the other cats that would avoid Brad, this one was infatuated with him. We let it in a few other times, and it would find Brad, and curl up next to him on the couch. If Brad got up, the cat got up and followed. Brad would go to the bathroom, and the cat would follow him in. Brad, or course, pushed him back out, so he'd lay down outside the door. It was hilarious! Brad named him Wild-Style, and he was a fun little house guest until we left.

Grandma Egbert got the kids some hula-hoops while I was in the hospital, and I'm shocked at how well Emma can hula! Take's after me --- who once won an Egbert Family Hula Contest. Yeah -- we're that awesome.

And this post just wouldn't be complete without sweet little Lucas at 7 weeks sleeping.

Puddles

The kids love being outside riding their bikes. It was after a big rain storm, so all the big puddles showed up in our culdesac. They (especially Jake) were having a blast riding bikes and scooters through the puddles. He thought it was the funnest thing ever, and any time it rained, he wanted to get back on his bike to go through the puddles. (After the rain stopped, of course, because he hates getting rained on, but being soaked head to toe in puddle water is just fine.) ???

More of Jake loving on his little brother "his best friend". So thrilled Jake handled the change of having a new baby brother in the family well. He loves being right there with him, and getting in any picture he can. He also loves his dog, and made sure I got a picture of him, too!

First day of First Grade!

My incredible little    big Emma going into First Grade! Emma is SUPER excited to return to school. She loves school and is such a quick learner. So stinkin' smart! Her first grade teacher in Utah was Mrs. Latimer. Emma really liked her, and we've enjoyed North Point Elementary, so it was sad to go and lose all her friends. Lucky for us, Emma is great at making new friends and adjusting to change. She was a trooper, and did great!

Jake was sad he wasn't going with Emma, but we got him a backpack, so he felt a little better about it. He would do absolutely everything with Emma if he could (and if she didn't get tired of it!). I'm sure my older siblings felt the same way about me tagging along.

My handsome three year old. Such a fun kid... when he wants to be!

Splash Pad

My friend Brittany (the boy, Zander, who I used to take care of's Mom), and I needed to catch up, so we went to a really fun splash pad and park for a play date. It was a super fun park, and the kids wore themselves out! Emma and Zander (boy in blue last picture) loved all the water, but Jake was still a little unsure, and would just step on the small sprinkles. We stayed there for probably three hours -- a much needed escape from the house with three kids... and we survived!

3-4 Weeks Old, and More Family!

Lucas on his first day at church, and his first random smile I could catch. So Sweet!

A few weeks home, and already starting to get a little chubby :)

Amber's family down for another visit, and all the girls wanted a picture with little Lucas.

More Company!

My Mom stayed almost a full two weeks helping out with me, kids, and everything in the house to get it ready to sell. My Dad came down and patched up our hole in the ceiling from the fridge leak (as you can tell by the mud on his face and arms :) ). So Grateful for their help -- and then they were off on their next adventure!

That afternoon Grandpa Bill came to meet Lucas and asked how he could help. I put him in charge of replacing all the burnt light bulbs as he's got the height to handle that perfectly! Also painting and wherever Brad could use him. Gotta love family right? Cheap labor -- paid in baby snuggles, a bed, and some food!

The next day Grandma Judy and Aunt Annetta came by to meet the new grand-baby, and we had a nice meal of ribs that Bill cooked up for us!

These two are absolutely in love with their little brother! I don't think he gets enough attention, do you?

First Bath

Lucas LOVED his first bath. I was expecting crying like my other two did on their first baths, but he laid back, closed his eyes, was calm, relaxed, and enjoyed every bit of it. I'm convinced he's being such a good baby because he was so used to being poked every day, that he thought he was in heaven at home with all the snuggles and love :).

Grandpa came back down to pick up Grandma to go to Colorado for more Grandparent duty --- these two are always on the go now that they're retired! This is Grandpa holding him for the first time. I still can't get over how small and skinny Lucas looks!

This little baby soaking in all the love and attention he can. I don't think he spent much time out of anyone's arms! Definitely going to be a spoiled one!
