Jake's second surgery to remove the three pins. It's pretty boring for him in pre-op because we end up waiting for 2-3 hours... thank goodness for a tv in the room and his little airplanes he was playing with.
One of the pins was poking up right under the skin and causing a little sore. Poor guy. After the first surgery, Jake was pretty upset for about an hour or so. When I told them that this time, they informed me they had medicine to help him come out of it smoother. Done. He woke up fairly happy and enjoyed a couple popcicles and a jello. He was back to his normal happy self in no time.
So we're almost completely done with this injury. We just have a follow up in June to x-ray the growth plate to make sure it's healed correctly. This little dude's been amazingly awesome through this whole experience -- one tough kid.
