Spring Soccer

Jake's first soccer season had a rough start, but he kept getting more comfortable and  better with each game. His were really fun to watch, because the kids were all so little, with very little idea of what was going on. He went from crying in the first game, and not wanting to play, to wanting to stay in the whole game and running around playing and enjoying kicking the ball. He even broke into his happy dance/skip when he got side tracked, instead of kicking the ball as it passes by. He did get a goal on his last game, but getting treats at the end was his favorite part.

I wasn't so happy with this organization when it came to Emma's team. They stuck all the new kids (new move-ins, and kids who'd never played before) onto one team. Only Emma and one other girl had played before. They totally set them up for being the losing team, and it was very frustrating -- and sad to watch. They ended up only winning one game -- their last game. That being said, Emma did an awesome job, and is continuing to get better. She had some great blocks when she was goalie, and got pretty close to making some goals. She's a great little defender, and super fast!
