February's Flash Briefing

Tyler is Luke's friend that comes to play every other week. Love their imaginations and their joy of the little things.
Emma and Jake dribbling down the court and trying to make a basket at their games. Unfortunately they both missed the one I recorded, but they both made a couple baskets that I didn't record! I'll catch one next season...
A day off school means we get out the paints and make big colorful messes.

And we go to the Discovery center to work on our giant bubbles. A worker came and showed Luke how to put his hand through the bubble without popping it. He was pretty impressed, but would rather it popped, so we went back to doing that!

Brad got another year older, and splurged on his diet with a DQ Blizzard on fire. Happy birthday to the love of my life!

During one of our dance party sessions, Luke came up with this new special dance move!

January's End

Magic Tracks -- one of the kids' favorite Christmas presents, and also Lizzy's... Finally a car the dogs can chase and catch.
Boys Battling.
We went to the zoo with our good friends, the Hedgpeths -- Lucy and Matthew. These kids get along so well, and have so much fun giggling and running around. They just need one Luke's age!

Won't be much longer until this little guys stops falling asleep on me. Soaking it up while I can :).

Discovery Center

We did a quick trip to the Discovery Center of Idaho playing with all their displays. Here's Brad and Jake making an attempt at the table cloth swipe.
The kids and Brad playing with a green screen, and Lucas doing a large scale light bright with water bottles.
The kids enjoyed the big bubble maker, pulley-chair, and all the other little science experiments. Brad turned out to be a great card thrower, and got about 10 to stick in the dart board! Of course, not during the video...

We Wish You a Merry Christmas!

In case Christmas went by too fast for you, here's a little bit of Christmas cheer! That we've been listening to over and over and over, every single day.

Aquarium

Our excursions to the aquarium usually consist of petting the sting-rays and sharks for 90% of the time, and then a quick walk around the rest of the tanks. I decided to splurge and bought the kids some food for the sting-rays (small dead fish cut in half). It took some convincing for them to hold the half-fish, but once they did, they enjoyed the ray sucking it off their hand.

This was Jake's favorite shark to pet, "because it just lays there and lets me pet him!"

A worker came by and gave the kids some food for the fish to grab out of their hands. After, they decided to trick the fish with no food, and they still got their fingers nibbled a little bit.
And blizzards for all, making it an extremely good day!

New Years

Emma and Jake stayed awake all the way to midnight for the first time! Wow-za! I was sure watching movies in bed would put them right out, but they made it! Happy New Year!  Bring it on 2018 -- we're ready!

Scentsy Sledding

Still not much snow, but enough to go to Scentsy's hill for a little family sledding.

We all went over and over again. Except Luke. I grabbed him three or four times and forced him to go down with me. I couldn't convince him that it was super fun. Maybe next time.
I forgot that I'm getting older, and tried repeatedly to go down the hill standing up on the sled. I actually did fairly well towards the end. The next morning was instant regret upon feeling every sore muscle in my body. Ouch.
