Light Sabers! 2020

Brad's new hobby through the pandemic! He's made his own light sabers! He learned how to solder all the wires and chips; making all the "guts" inside to make it work, change color, sounds, and all that! This is next-level nerd, and we love it! So impressive!

This is Jake showing his special moves with the light saber they just finished together! Totally awesome!

All three boys battling!

Huge hit with the boys, and there's been a pretty constant light-saber battle in the living room all month!

Jump Creek Falls

Our first time going to Jump Creek Falls! Definitely worth going again, but maybe not on a Saturday. SO many people! But so much fun!

There were a couple fun spots where we crossed the creek on the rocks. And of course, there's always a few rocks we find that we NEED to bring home!

Very cold water!

.

I was able to grab some shots with just our family and the scenery, but this is what it was like at the end of the trail. People everywhere!

What do I do with my hands? A few Lucas poses when he thought I was taking a picture instead of a video!

June 2020

Roaring Springs is open! There's more lines and taped off entrances because they have to limit numbers, but we're able to get some fun in the sun and water! The dipping dots are totally overpriced, but the kids love them, so I get them once for everyone. Then if they overcome a fear and try a new slide, I'll buy the one child their own that day.

Jacob and Emma doing a season of outdoor volleyball clinic at Settler's Park. They're improving each time!

Emma's friends Max and Victoria over for some fun and games!

He dresses himself. Yes, those are Christmas socks. In June. He likes to party.

Lucas with his Brayge soccer team getting their medals. Love that smile! He's loving playing soccer and thrilled with his medal.

So stinkin' proud of this girl! She had her first soccer game of the season a couple weeks ago, and was exhausted within the first few minutes. Since then, she's been out running almost every night building her endurance. Today, she was running up and down the field the whole time she was in, and scored 2 of the teams 3 goals! I love that she saw her hard work pay off today!

Jacob and Emma climbing the rocks at Settler's.

All the church buildings are closed for Covid, so we try to set the outdoor net up as much as we can!

Clearly, we are all loving our outdoor activities and soaking up the warm sunshine! Abby included!

Grandma Judy

Sadly, we had to say goodbye to a wonderful Mom and Grandma on May 12, 2020. Brad's Mom was a woman who made sure her family was fed, and fed well! When I married Brad, she gave me some of her recipes, and the tip that he liked cherry jello with homemade whip cream. I may not be able to cook the meats like she did, but I got the jello covered! She was well known for sending us home with the giant zip-lock bags stuffed with cookies, candies, and activities for her grandkids. She sure spoiled them. The kids loved that Grandma was always interested in their lives and what they were doing, even though she asked the same questions a lot! We love and miss you Judy!

Brad's favorite picture of his mom and himself.
Because of Covid, large gatherings of people were not allowed. Her funeral was done over skype with family and friends, and her boys shared some fun pictures and memories to celebrate her life. The burial also had to remain small with all attendees wearing masks.

The storm cleared just at the right time. She was laid to rest up with her parents in Driggs with a fantastic view of the Teton mountains -- even though the clouds were blocking it this day. It was a very peaceful and beautiful spot.

Grandma Judy collected bears, and Brad had bought her one for Mother's Day. The package didn't get there in time, so sadly, she never received it. It was a perfect addition to the funeral and burial though, and it was put into the casket with her.
